Those are some pretty useful tips – can’t really be emphasized enough that timing is everything, especially when you’re photographing at night. The cycles the moon goes through dictates how much light is reflected on to the earth, so a night with a full moon you’ll need less exposure.

We actually wrote a similar article that would pretty useful for other readers especially at gauging moon cycles or generally seasons to shoot the milky way in.

Let us know your thoughts on it, we’d love some perspective: https://weshootyou.co.uk/photography-blog/astro-photography-guide

Best,

Hi,
Yes. Your images won’t be completely noise-free, but you’ll get adequate results with your kit.

No, they copied us, which is why they link to us throughout and published after we did.

I’ve heard it referred to as a 450D. The ISO only goes to 1600. Is there a way I can make the Milky Way shots with this camera? I have 2 lenses and they are not the best, They came with the camera. I also have a 75 – 300 tele lens, but it is extremely stiff.I’ve thought about sending it back to Canon to be checked. Your opinion on all of this, please?

The attached photo is of Mount Baker from Artist Point. The skyglow is the Seattle metroplex.

Thank you
